The Bachelor of Business (Accounting) provides students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in
accounting, through a more practical and hands-on approach. Accountants are in demand not only in
the financial services sector but also in retail, manufacturing, construction, education, health, sport
and recreation - in fact in any business which involves financial transactions with its customers/clients.
Subjects are organised into five strands of study - General Accounting and Audit, Management
Accounting and Finance, Business, Legal, and Contemporary Business.
The course is structured to provide an undergraduate degree on completion of 24 subjects. Students
exiting after successful completion of all first and second year subjects [16 subjects] are eligible to
receive the Associate Degree in Business (Accounting).
The program provides a nationally recognised qualification in accounting. Graduates may apply for
associate membership of CPA Australia and the Institute of Public Accountants. Graduates of this
degree also meet the entry requirements of the Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA) Program.
Students are advised to refer to the appropriate body’s website for further details regarding admission
and membership requirements.
Students who have completed the Diploma of Accounting at Holmesglen will receive credit of one
year towards this course. Students who have completed the Advanced Diploma of Accounting at
Holmesglen are guaranteed credit of 1.5 years towards this course. Students entering the program
with a qualification or completed subjects at either Associate or Bachelor degree level or above will be
assessed for exemptions on a case by case basis.
Students wishing to undertake this course at MSIT (Brisbane) will need to commence their studies with
the Diploma of Accounting. On successful completion of the Diploma, they will get one year’s credit
towards the degree. It will take another two years to complete the degree.

The Bachelor of Business (Executive Administration) was developed in response to demand from
industry for highly skilled professionals in business management and administration. It equips
students with a thorough understanding of specialised business functions, including business
management, economics, finance, technology, marketing, business communications, statistics, law
and people management. The final year includes two Professional Practice placement units in which
the student assists an Executive Administrator in a business organisation.
This course leads to an undergraduate qualification that will enhance and broaden students’ level
of technical and interpersonal skills, and extend their knowledge of, and ability to analyse, various
aspects of business activity in order to prepare them for future changes in the business environment.
Graduates of this course would be eligible to apply for a diverse range of positions requiring
management, human resource, administration and secretarial skills/knowledge. Alternatively they may
apply for graduate trainee programs. Career pathways may include general office manager, personal
assistant to a chief executive officer (CEO) or human resource/business manager.
The skills developed within this course are in significant demand by industry and government. This
course is structured to provide an undergraduate degree on completion of 24 subjects. Students

receive the Associate Degree in Business (Executive Administration).
Students who have completed the Diploma of Business Administration at Holmesglen are guaranteed
a credit of 8 subjects towards this course.
Students entering the program with other higher education qualifications will be assessed for
exemptions on a case by case basis
