This course provides students with a variety of class room based and practical training within the
rapidly growing event management industry. It focuses on developing the skills and knowledge
required to plan and co-ordinate meetings, conferences, events and various other tourism and event
related activities.
The course is designed to enhance the range of career opportunities a successful student can
explore by incorporating event managing, marketing and e-business into the program.

This course provides students with innovative and practical training within the travel and tourism
industry.
The course has a strong focus on the skills required to work in the industry and also offers students
the opportunity to develop a broad range of skills and knowledge for a range of positions in the
travel and tourism industry including tour guiding.
The program incorporates tourism sales, management, tour operations and leadership to ensure
greater career opportunities on successful completion of the course.

The Certificate IV in Fitness at Holmesglen develops both the instructional and fitness specific
skills to undertake exercise programming for a variety of populations. It is a nationally recognised
qualification that enables graduates to work as both a fitness instructor (gym) and personal trainer.
Specialising in a wide variety of areas such as fitness evaluation and health screening, resistance
training, advanced exercise prescription, postural appraisal and personal training the course will
enable students to hone their skills effectively and efficiently.
Upon successful completion graduates will be able to register with Fitness Australia or Physical
Activity Australia as both a registered Fitness Instructor (gym) and Personal Trainer.
On successful completion of the Certificate IV in Fitness, students may have the opportunity to
study the Diploma of Fitness.
The Diploma of Fitness broadens the understanding of key areas such as functional anatomy,
postural evaluation and conditioning, exercise physiology, nutrition and weight management,
exercise for specific requirements/conditions (including musculo-skeletal rehabilitation and cardio-
respiratory conditioning), sports conditioning, and exercise prescription.
Graduates from the Diploma of Fitness will be able to support the provision of exercise programs
for clients with a range of chronic conditions, athletes and/or specific requirements, in collaboration
with allied health professionals in a range of environments and settings.
