This course provides practical training for those who wish to pursue a career in the exciting world of
photography, photoimaging and digital arts.
Students will gain experience in the many photographic imaging techniques and practices through
practical hands on exercises. They will be able to explore their creative talents and gain skills
in camera controls and image capture, darkroom print and processing, print/file storage; studio
and mood lighting; traditional, contemporary and emerging industry trends; photo-industry
awareness and networking; design skills in digital media; video art; digital manipulation and image
enhancement.

This course provides advanced practical training for those who wish to pursue a career in the
exciting world of photography, photo imaging and digital arts. It builds on the skills and knowledge
gained through the completion of the Certificate IV in Photo Imaging.
Students will gain experience in the many photographic imaging techniques and practices through
practical hands-on exercises. The Diploma of Photo Imaging introduces to students key concepts
and practical training for specialised fields of photographic imaging such as photography for
advertising, fashion, documentary and journalism.

This preparatory course provides a general introduction to digital media skills which apply to the
fields of film and television, animation and interactive multimedia. Students will study subjects
designed to enable a folio of work to be created that can be used for entry to screen and media
programs at both diploma and degree level. Students will cover drawing, storyboarding, animation,
design, visual effects, vision and sound editing and screen production.

and Media (Radio and
TV)

This course provides students with a broad range of practical and theoretical skills for producing and
presenting programs in the radio and television industries.
Students may seek employment in radio (community, commercial and public) and television
(commercial, public and pay TV) as producers, sound and video editors, presenters, technicians,
administrators and assistants.
Students who successfully complete all units may be eligible for entry into the Advanced Diploma of
Screen and Media.
